An affidavit of support is needed when someone else is funding your trip — a relative, employer, or host.
When required: when your own bank balance is insufficient, when a family member is sponsoring, when a company is sending you for business, when visiting a host who invites you.
What it must contain: sponsor’s full name, relationship to you, their income proof, their bank statements, commitment to cover your expenses, notarised signature.
Format: typed on stamp paper (₹100-500), notarised by a licensed notary public. Attach sponsor’s: passport copy, bank statements (6 months), employment letter, relationship proof.
The relationship must be verifiable. Parent-child, spouse, sibling — attach birth certificate, marriage certificate, or other official proof. House of Visas prepares affidavits in embassy-accepted format.
